Greetings! With the holidays approaching, identity thieves are kicking up their phishing scams. Sometimes your email provider will warn you that it's a scam. Other times, you'll have to judge the email's merit on your own. Often a quick Google or Bing search will reveal if the email is malicious. Of course, you need a firewall and other computer security.

Before you hand over some cash for anti-virus software, check out some of the alternatives. One of my favourite places to get good, cheap and often free anti-malware/spamware/virus software is Major Geeks at majorgeeks.com. You've got to love the geek ratings and tips. Still, there's a lot more to life than computers. Remember, "Vienna waits for you."
