Really Neat Small Businesses in Vermont

Last week, I got back from the Northeast Kingdom in Vermont. Truthfully, I have never seen so many unique businesses in a rural community. First there's Jasper Hill Farm -famous for their aged cheddar cheese. Pete's Greens is a good place to get your veggie fix. If you're looking for a good summer read on the agricultural-entrepreneur movement, there's a book called "The Town that Food Saved: How One Community Found Vitality in Local Food" by Ben Hewlitt.

I met a fair number of the people featured in the book. Honestly, we had a wicked good time. It also gave me a renewed appreciation for the natural/local food movement. Until next time, catch me in the library.
