2020: Nearing the End

This has been a long, rough year with the pandemic.  I've been paying attention to New Zealand.  They have few COVID-19 cases and took the pandemic seriously from day one.  This article details the spread of COVID-19 on a long-haul flight from Dubai to New Zealand:

In fact, the Ministry of Health puts out updates and reports on COVID-19:

Given the fact that they've had so few outbreaks, they're doing something right.  Likewise, parts of Canada, particularly the Maritimes and Newfoundland have had few cases.  A big reason is that they are behaving like an island according to the CBC:

And Newfoundland and Prince Edward Island are well... islands.  Sometimes geographic isolation has its perks in a pandemic.  Atlantic Canada implemented a travel bubble this summer.  Months later, at the height of a pandemic, they're in better shape than much of North America.  Still, no one can let their guard down.  This looks like it's going to be rough winter.  My word, I sure hope 2021 is better.
