Back from New Orleans

Hi Everyone,
I recently returned from the American Library Association Annual Conference in New Orleans. It was a good opportunity to learn about the latest happenings in the library world. I ran into some old faces and also saw many new ones too. It was also my first time in New Orleans. Wow, that town has been through a lot! Many of the stores are still boarded up and it looks like it will be a while until things get back to normal. That being said, many of the restaurants have returned and the food was excellent. New Orleans locals are an interesting bunch and the St. Louis Cathedral was absolutely incredible. No pictures this time folks. Enjoy the summer.

Google Earth

This is the neatest thing. If you are looking for another new Google creation, you might want to take a look at Google Earth. I was playing around with this the other day and it's pretty addictive. Google Earth is also surprisingly accurate. I could even see my sister's Mazda parked in front of my parent's house. Pretty wild, eh.

Take care,

Back from some time off

Hello,

I just got back from Winnipeg, Manitoba. It felt great to have a little time off to relax and recharge the old batteries. Again, more people told me I look like Tobey Maguire so it appears that it holds true in Canada as well as the states. There are worse fates I'd suppose. I ended up getting interviewed on Canadian television during a haunted house tour in Winnipeg because I had "the right look" according to CTV. Gee, I didn't know quite what to say but the whole idea of a bunch of Canadians watching me on TV makes for a good vacation story.

Camp Reference in Ablah Library is alive and well. Please visit us! We are here to help. Librarians are nothing to be scared of. We laugh, smile, have a good time, like to talk to other people, etc so don't hesitate to stop on by.
