Selling Restaurant Reservations

Greetings,
Have you ever wanted to get a table at a popular, new restaurant in town?  Chances are, you may have to make a reservation in advance to get a table.  But what if you wanted to go the restaurant right away, without making a reservation days (or sometimes weeks) in advance?  A company has developed a way to purchase restaurant reservations for a fee:

According to this article, people who make a reservation and need to cancel are able to sell their unwanted reservations instead.  This is an interesting business model. In some ways, it's analogous to online ticket brokers.  If you can't make it to a concert, many people attempt to sell their unwanted tickets online.  The big difference is that restaurant reservations don't usually cost money (unlike concert tickets).  It'll be interesting to see if this new business model of selling reservations becomes more popular in the future.  Until next time, catch me in the library.
